Its natural beauty makes it a nature lover's paradise, as it is one of the few towns on the Costa del Sol that has escaped the rampant sprawl of hotels. If you want to go to La Presa, you should travel the River Cauce del Rio Chillar, through its gulleys, streams, and forests, and definitely be prepared for this trip because sometimes on this route, it is necessary to tread through water. It's not very deep though.
Another route you can go trekking on is La Fuente del Espanto. It is a 5 kilometer trail that isn't too difficult. It goes through pine forests and peaceful areas, and also through one that was ravaged by fire.
A third recommended route in Nerja is that of Penon de los Castillejos. It runs through valleys, orchards, and gardens.
