They had discovered one of the marvels of this planet, one of the oldest cathedrals in the Province of Malaga, a natural one. The caves of Nerja are a symbol for Malaga, and Andalusia. More than 150,000 m2 of galleries, with cave paintings of past centuries. In its interior, you will see the Sala de Belen, the sala de la cascada, sala de los fantasmas, sala del cataclismo, Sala de las Columnas de Hércules, Sala de la Montaña, and many more underground rooms that house history, memories, paintings...
Diverse archeological pieces have been found here, such as the remains of a Cromagnon man.
Another spectacular aspect of this cave is that it has a large room which concerts are performed in, due to the natural accoustics. This room is used in July for Flamenco concerts. |
